Does anyone know the part number for the white part of the door card retaining clip [the part that has a habit of snapping off when you remove the door card]. ETKA tells me it is only available with the door card. There is a part number on the white bit but when I search for it ETKA says 'part not in stamm' ??

Sold only with the door card!
Trip to the breakers I'm afraid.

Never mind, found them now, the white part on here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/391312469434?ul_noapp=true (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/391312469434?ul_noapp=true)
Although I only need the white part they're cheap enough that it doesn't matter. Daft main dealers not selling the white part separately, a cynical ploy I suspect to shaft us as they know they are brittle!

I hope they fit OK as they look very different to mine :popcornsoda:

They look nothing like MKV fixing I remember but very much a MKIV - not saying they won't work and certainly cheap enough to try. :happy2:

I'll slide the black bit out, I'm guessing that's the mkiv bit you're referring to. I'm only after the white part that glues onto the door card - but it seems you can't buy separately from VW.

Hi guys, just looking for some info on re fitting the interior door cards. Bit off topic to original thread.
Removed the door cards to swap out switches and clean up "soft" plastic handles.
When re fitting the door cards there is a gap 5 -10 mm around the edge (not top or bottom just front and back edge). I "re set" the panel clips before replacing but still cant get it flush.
Question is can you get it flush? Or do most have some kind of gap? Would new clips make the difference?
Thanks for any input.

Yeah there is a gap. Should only be 2-3mm though. MK5 door cards don't push onto the metalwork like the MK4 and earlier cards did. Probably an attempt to reduce creaks and rattles. VW sell a clip kit for reasonable money, about £11 per side last time I got them.
