Hi all,
I am a long term Golf owner, sold my 2001 4Motion this week after 8 happy years, bought used ED30 Tuesday, Superchip Bluefin stage 1 delivered Thursday, installed map tonight, error message on Bluefin suggested it had not loaded, upon driving away from the lay-by assuming standard map was operating I realised the 300 bhp map HAD loaded OK after all....
Jeez :jumping:

Thanks ! :happy2:

bonjour :happy2: whats the vital stats on your Edition Sir?
-
Welcome along, do you have a Manual or dsg car??
Lots of issues with wrong maps being supllied from superchips of late.
Ie Manual car maps being sent to dsg cars which cause odd performance.

Phil - thanks for the info, I am going to phone SC Monday to report the apparent error and check I downloaded the correct map, everything seems to operate OK, it was just a suprise to have the wheels spin up through the gears due to me driving the car as if running the standard map on a damp and greasy/salty road, I imagine that this could have caused issues if caught out by the extra ( sooo much extra ! ) torque in the wrong situation.
TIP - If your Bluefin says the remap has not loaded due to 'Communication Error' - do not assume this is the case, take care and 'feel' the map before you open the car up.
Morry hello, my car is - Red 3 Door - 56k - November '57' reg - Manual - Xenon - Sunroof.
How do I check what production number is ? No plaque with car.
I particularly wanted Xenon because my 4Motion had them and I am a complete convert, the ED30 lighting is a huge improvement compared to my Mk4 system.

Welcome along matey :pomppomp: They do go well after a map

I need to readjust myself, 4Motion = very easy to drive 'road fast' supremely forgiving, ED30 ST1 = feels 'direct' torque steer/wheelspin/f**ck off quick for the road kinda way, really need to take extreme care, well I do anyway.
I ride some very fast supersport bikes, yet the ED30 is STILL really exiting, usually my cars are transport and bikes are performance, this Golf is an intoxicating mix of the both, very cool.
I am assuming that ( forget 1st & 2nd ) 3rd/4th gear wheelspins on winter roads are the norm for you other owners, yes ?
