ive brought some painted side skirts was going to have them fitted but the company wasn't keen as they claim the current ones are bonded on?
is this true and how easy are they to fit?
also have a edition 30 splitter is that easy? does the bumper have to come off
-
the skirts are fixed with adhesive and clips and screws but its not rocket science to remove... the splitter can be removed without removing the bumper quite easily maybe just want to jack car up a bit for easier access to the screws underneath

I went through this with my old R32. It's a semi rigid urethane glue (similar to windscreen glue) and they have to use a cheese wire type tool to cut it. Have to be careful you don't damage the skirts but if the old ones are being binned, it's not a problem. It's a straight forward job for a body shop. Sounds like they just can't be arsed because it's more work than waving a spray gun around isn't it.

Why don't you strip yours off at home and then supply the car just to fit the new ones?

Just need a tool like this to remove them - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CAR-WINDSCREEN-GLASS-CUTTING-OUT-REMOVAL-WIRE-AND-HANDLES-CHEESE-WIRE-TOOLS-KIT-/401125762300?hash=item5d64f564fc:g:MX4AAOSwBw5XRC5W

Comes in quite handy if you're a 1960's gangster too.
Keep one in the glovebox in case you ever need to do an emergency side skirt removal, the police will 100% believe that :signLOL:
-
so splitter a straight swap? and the side skirts will be a pain to remove how do I go about sticking them back on?

I changed my lower bumper over for R32 style a few weeks ago, I managed to remove the lower with the bumper still on using ridiculous force but was unable to clip the new one in successfully as the bumper kept pushing in so the tabs could not click in. I ended up removing the bumper and then it was alot easier. If I was doing it again I would remove bumper from the off, only 6 bolts holding it, 2 under each rear light and 1 each side through bumper into wheel arch

^^^ Ignore that ha just realised you are talking about a splitter not lower bumper ^^^
