Title: Changing sidelight bulbs on factory xenons?
Post by: petesimcock on April 08, 2017, 04:58:01 pm
Hi guys, I'm having tremendous trouble finding how to change the sidelight bulbs on cars with xenon lights. Someone mentioned going in through the wheel arch, anyone shed some light?

No need to go through arch, can be done from the engine bay. Remove plastic cap on rear of the lights, pliers are handy as bit tight inside the unit

or if you have small fingers like me, then you can just pop the covers off and pull it out gently.

Don't know about gently as these buggers are sometimes jammed with the silly design of the side light cover which has a clip either side but can be done through the back cover as mentioned  :happy2:

There is a cerated bit on the bulb holder, get a small screwdriver behind the cerated bit and pry it against the side of the light. You might want to use a finger on the other side and pull at the same time. Pops out easy.

I've a mini guide on the first page of my build thread

It's tough getting in there and the bulbs are press fittings so a needle nose pliers will be needed to pull them out.
