Post by: mk1mad on April 14, 2017, 10:59:58 am
What width spacers is everyone using with standard  monza's and 225 width tyres? Picture's would be good.

Depends if you wanna lower in the future. If you sit flush with the arch then they will defo rub on bumpy roads. So might have to factor in slightly narrower ones to stop that.

Thanks for the replies, I am already lower than stock as running coilovers.

Around 10-12mm front and 15mm rear is our most popular option.

I'd go with that.

I'm on BBZ VZ which poke about 13mm more than a 7.5J et51 wheel.

Front looks perfect, and to the eye I could probably get away with a 3-5mm spacer on the rear if I wanted.

That's on 30mm H&R springs by the way. Coilies are going on tomorrow and I'm confident I won't have any issues going 15-20mm lower. Although I have just done the arch screw mod.

This should give you a rough idea...

That looks good, what is the off set and width of the bbs and what size tyres are you running ? as looking to move to 18's at a later date.

8J et44. Equivalent to a 7.5J et51 18" Monza with a 12-13mm spacer.

Tyres are 225 40 18 Michelin PSS all round in that pic. I'm now on Michelin PS4 on the front, and they're equally brilliant in British road conditions.

Cheers @r5gtt

You've got the springs ready to fit? If so, get it done!

If not, you can buy mine.

ECS use 10/15mm in their kit linked below however if you plan to change wheels to say TD1.2 ET45 8*18" then you will get a similar outcome but with much lower overall unsprung weight.

:happy2: for a complete H&R kit I bought off Richard so just need to do the swop over as I don't have to strip the oem ones down for the top mounts but will be fitting them once I've fitted the brembo's on this week  but thanks for the offer mate  @AJP (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=11926)
