Title: Interior Parts that require replacment

Hi All,

I have recently purchased a 5 door MK5 GTI. Its quite high mileage but has had one owner, FSH and is nearly immaculate.

The only downside with the car is that the interior plastic trim is quite tired and I want to get it replaced.

Does anyone know where I can get both Driver & passenger grab handles surround, new DSG gear nob and gaitor and most importantly the plastic surround around the parcel shelf apart from through VW?

Ebay only has the drivers door handle and non of the other items. The biggest difficulty I guess is the boot surround?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Why do you instantly say apart from vw, some of there prices for small bits of trim are quite cheap, give them a call think you'll be surprised

Try your nearest TPS for the grab handles that where I got mine from, a lot cheaper than the ones on eBay, I'm sure they could probably sort your other bits out too hopefully

Try and research the part numbers of bits you need before taking a trip to VW parts,you find them more helpful if you do some of the donkey work for them,the reg but a VIN is better,fair few owners on here have changed some if not all interior parts

The last 5 or 6 times I've been to the dealer with internet part numbers, they've been completely wrong or superseded.   I advise walking in with your VIN/Reg No. and point to parts on the screen, the old fashioned way.

And agreed on dealers.  The only expensive trim pieces in the car are the soft furnishings / leather parts.  The plastics are all very reasonable.
