Title: Numberplate lights led confusion.
Post by: Chrisl85 on May 09, 2017, 11:08:50 am
Having a bit of a headache with this. Normal bulbs are working fine. Plug one led in, still fine. Go for 2 and nothing. I've rotated them incase their polarised but nothing. Whats going on? Thanks

Its normally incompatible bulbs that do this, not suitable for the bulb recognition or can systems.

Gone back to shop. Gentleman fired some mumbo jumbo at me. The car won't accept the type of bulbs i used for some confusing reason. Tried led sidelights for the car whelse I was there and the car dont like them either! How do people upgrade all their lights to white help!!!

I believe you will need lights that are CANBUS error free.

I gave up on LED's since the sidelights keep failing. I put some halogen as sidelights to check if they will blow up. If they do then there is a problem with the car and not the lights :(

Almost all mk5 Golfs can fit these OEM LED number plate lights without issues: http://www.carsystems.pl/license-plate-led-1k8943021b,id41.html. They're plug&play.

Some rare cars require a bulb out canceler: http://www.carsystems.pl/license-plate-led-plug-play-adapter,id373.html.

Those are the same as what I mentioned but seem to be cheaper. :happy2:
