Morning folks,
The whip aerial / antenna is looking worst for wear and needs replacing on the ED30.
The car came with factory sat nav so has the shark fin and whip aerial. I believe the thread on the whip is slightly larger than the whip of non sat nav cars.
I would have liked to fit the polo stubby aerial but am led to believe this wont fit :sad1:
Does anyone have the part number for the whip antenna for cars that have factory sat nav and have the fin and whip set up?
Thanks in advance

the polo short one should be fine

The polo aerial is a direct swap for the normal whip aerial. The whip aerial on the fin and whip combo for factory fitted sat nav cars have a slightly different thread.

Did you have any luck with this @richtung (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=1475) ? Thanks.

I totally forgot about this.
I got a new whip from TPS - i gave them the reg and they found the right one. I will dig out the invoice tonight and post up the part number and price.

Thank you - that would be great. Much appreciated.

The part number on my invoice is: 1J0 035 849A - £22.75 inc VAT
Just for future reference, this antenna is for bases that have a shark fin AND whip antenna. (normally for cars with factory fitted sat nav)
Hope this helps

I've checked ETKA and that's the same part number for the whip aerial of basic antennas (without the shark fin bit).
I only saw another part number there but for the Mexican version of the shark fin antenna with the whip aerial: 1J0 035 849 E.

Thank you both for your help.
