Title: AXX Cam Chain & Tensioner Cover

Hi, Does anyone know the part number for the Cam Chain and Tensioner side Cover? (AXX Engine).

Just replaced the chain and tensioner and noticed that one of 3 metal split rings that is located inside the cam chain side cover have broken into many bits, not sure if these rings would be sold as part of the cover or can be bought separately.

AKS tuning sell the control rings your talking about. Give them a call they should be able to help. I recently got new ones doing my cam chain.

Thanks for your response, unfortunately being on a small island i can't just call and inquire about parts, anything i order is ordered through a company called Richard James International and is then shipped to St Helena.

Do you have a part number for the control rings? I can get RJ to order directly through VW using the number if i cant find them on any sites

Thanks for the links guys

I have read somewhere that some models comes with plastic Rings and others with metal, (introduced on newer models) as plastic ones are prone to breaking during the removal and refitting process, can anyone confirm if the metal rings will just fit straight into the AXX Housing?? as the AXX engine is the earlier version its more likely to have the plastic rings, couldn't quite tell from the broken bits what material they were.
