Title: Electrics
Post by: Gti_enthu on May 28, 2017, 12:48:59 pm
Hello I'm new to this forum and I have an issue with my electrics. I have only had my MK5 57 GTi (5dr) for a few weeks but my fuel cap button doesn't work and only the drivers window operates normally. The rear passenger doesn't open at all and I have changed the motor still no luck.

I have stripped back the drivers door loom and all the wires are perfect no snapped wires. All fuses seem to be fine too.

I'm stuck on what could be wrong and the local mechanic was completely useless. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

From the sounds of it - it sure thing sounds like a earth issue.
check the pin 2 (brown wire) and pin 4 (brown/white).

Thank you for your reply @Christiank (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=17442). Are these wires in the door loom or do you have a picture diagram? Sorry I'm not good with the electric side of things.

Thanks

Yes they are in the T32 connector in the door cord wire loom.
