Hi
I'm a member of the Briskoda forum and I own a modified Octavia VRS.
I was hoping that someone maybe able to help me with their experience and knowledge.
My car is 2009 Octavia VRS which has been modified to 345bhp by Shark Performance and Ive only owned the car for a year now.
It has a CCZA engine and below is the list of engine modifications, it has suspension & brakes mods aswell.
Cold Induction Kit
Full Miltek system resonated
K04 Turbo Conversion
Addition of a Wagner Intercooler
Wastegate Actuator upgrade
Diverter Value upgrade
Stage 3 remap.
On the Wednesday 24th my car had a misfired, at first I thought it was the coil pack, below is the VCDS:

The car was running fine until then, I managed to drive it home as I was only 5 mins away.
Fearing it was the coil pack in No4, I swapped it with Coil Pack No1 to see if the fault would move - nothing changed as the fault didn't move and the car was idling rough.
I then checked the sparkplug and found it cover in oil aswell the coil pack in Cylinder No4. so I changed the spark plug and the coilpack - it is idling better but doesnt sound as it should - a clattering sound when you press the accelerator. The car has not been used since fault.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Faulty injector could be causing the misfire and leaking valve cover gasket letting oil drip onto the coil/plug
-
If it were a piston ring failure you'd have crud oily deposit on the electrode!!!
Looks more like the rocker gasket is leaking and when you undone the plug the oil seeped down onto the thread on the plug
-
:ashamed:
Comment removed. Note to self: Pay attention and look closer :slap:
I should know this, I've had both of these issues happen previously. Shot rings, would indeed be fouling the electrode. Luckily the rocker cover gasket is a cheap and easy fix.

Thanks guys for taking the time to respond.
What I'm not clear about is why the misfiring went from only cylinder No4 on the initial VCDS to Multiple!
I can only assume that the problem is not isolated to Cylinder no4 and is in fact affecting all of the cylinders.

Also if you look at the plug socket, it's got fresh oil on it which suggests it went deep into a puddle of oil.
-
I would do a compression test to be sure. Overboosting isn't a good sign. The oil is not far enough up the plug to cause a misfire, in fact it looks like it's come up through the plug threads rather than dripping down from a leaking gasket.

^^^What he said^^^
I suspect there was a pool of oil which has seeped down the plugs causing the threads to look as they do upon removal. You'd have enough smoke to fill the whole street if there was enough oil in the bores to do that to the plugs.
You have both under and overboost codes..... have you changed any hardware (i.e. the wastegate actuator) or fiddled with the pre-load since it was mapped? If not then they've not done a good enough job with the software or you've developed a fault that needs sorting. Underboosting at 60mph in top and overboosting at 100mph means requested vs actual load isn't right
Having just read the opening post properly, the clattering sound when depressing the accelerator does not sound good at all...... More investigation needed.... Compression test, oil pressure test, scope the bores etc.
