Hi all
Had anyone fitted a later dsg gearbox into there car
I have a passat tdi I have been told I can use a later scirroco tdi dsg gearbox as long as it's the complete gearbox and mech's
Does anyone else have any experience of this ?

Sorry, I've no idea how.....but I am interested in the why?

In theory you can. They use the same clutch set etc. Although different gearboxes can have different ratios so can mess up things like displayed gear or suggested gear indicator.

I'm having trouble finding a replacement box
the mk6 dsg box I have been told is a much better box in what way I don't know

Pretty sure the DSG boxes for the TDIs are the same.

Cheers jay
I have a customer in Greece he's telling me they will fit and work fine he converts manuals to Dsgs
Ordered one out of an eos with 20k on it fingers crossed it works
Or it's a waste of time and money

AFAIK it's what Jay said. I'd only worry about gear ratios. GTI have a great gear ratio setup. Not sure about other models.
