Hi all.
As per title, any experiences of fitting Lamin-X to headlights?
My headlights were going cloudy so I restored them and fitted Lamin-X to protect them further from degradation. Followed on line instructions but despite being applied with no creases I have very small air pockets all over the place. Apparently this should settle out with warmth and sunlight. Any comments from those of you who have applied this to your pride and joys?
Thanks!

I tried Lamin-x a few years back with my mkiv - I had the same problem. The film was so thick, but despite a pristine surface (I was fitting them to a spare set of headlight protectors) I still got some really tiny bubbles I couldn't get rid of. Maybe it was just me, but I wasn't drawn to the product...

as above, I had it on my mkiv, tried on my mkv, but the shape of the light made it damn near impossible, so i gave up, in the emd, I took my car to the guy who tinted my windows on my mkiv, and he did a great job using the film he uses, but took it off eventually as I went for yellow, and wasn't happy in then end especially with getting an advisory on my mot.

Not quite what you asked but I've put it on my fogs and am very happy with it.

Also used it on various MK2 fogs and the on E36 EVO fogs, very happy back then too.

Thanks for the comments gents. We have had terrible weather in Cornwall over the last week so when the car hasnt been wet it has been a bit grubby. I think the finish may have improved but will have to wait for its next proper clean. I have read it can take a couple of weeks to cure properly so will leave it a bit longer. It's not a terrible finish and i can live it, but its not as great as I'd hoped. The alternative is probably new lights. Xenon look? Struggling to find Hella suppliers though.

I have or had Lamin-x on fogs, side mirror signals, front side markers, interior lights, and tail lights. On smaller areas there have never been bubbles...but when I did the red over the tail lights I did have tiny air pockets. You can try a hair dryer and or sit it in the sun. If they do not go away, as some did on mine, I used an x-acto knife's point to pierce the bubble to allow air to escape and it did adhere following some more time in the sun. If they don't correct themselves over time in warmer weather...might need to remove, clean again, and reapply new ones...unfortunately. :drinking:
