Hi everyone, I'm having a small problem with my car as it doesn't go into gear sometimes I mostly get this in reverse and I have put it in neutral let go of the clutch and put it back into reverse.
I only get this with reverse,1st and 2nd all the other gears go in fine. I've read before you can change a plastic piece under the gear sector.
It's a six speed gear with 120000 miles

At that age, it could be the slave cylinder, knackered clutch or excessive gear shaft end float.
-
It's not slotting in

Could always try the gear syncro trick, worth a go and it's something you can do yourself.
-
Try re-aligning the gear shift cables in case it is not allowing proper selection of the gears
Failing that you either have a clutch issue or a gearbox issue as has already been said

Thanks a lot guys
