Title: S3/R engine swap.
Post by: Richie-VRS on June 11, 2017, 08:24:02 am
Good morning. I'm toying with the idea of selling my new turbo, injectors and all the bits I've gathered up for doing my k04 swap and just buying a complete engine with turbo and injectors.

Can anyone tell me the engine codes that drop straight in and more importantly will run with my existing BWA loom.

I assume a CJX from a '13-'16 Golf R will not work with my Ecu? I did some reading last night and couldn't find an answer to that specific question.

The only swaps I really seen were talking about CDL and BWJ codes.

Cheers
Richie.

BYD, CDL & CCZ are the most common ones I believe.  You will need to extend the diverter valve loom over to the front of the engine, but otherwise it should be the same.  I believe the ECUs are the same, just different maps, but someone else may be able to confirm.

Cheers pudding, things have now changed somewhat, on Saturday I'm going to pick up an AXX engine, I have just been delivered s3 rods and pistons so I'll be rebuilding the AXX with them and new rings etc.
