What's the software needed to code 2008+ cars?
Trying to see if I can get one of my cars done here in Ireland.
Have a fella who can code but need to make sure we have the right gear to do it.
Any help appreciated..
So far one of the forum "gurus" is being his usual arsey self..

It's cool.. found out the info I needed.. all it was info.. no big deal. It's not classified info...
you're totally right its not classified info, most people use AVDI from Abrites which can cost in the region of a grand, if your speedo hasn't got any mileage in it or has been reset to zero you might be able to use VAS 5054A with an online Geko connection to VW which you can pay for by the hour I believe.
But the best news for us all is the fact there are some leads coming out of china that sound remarkably like "AVDI" and can be relativity cheap ish 150 to 300 for depending on which software you want. if you want links to it please ask via PVT message and I'll point you in the right direction.
You can program the key chip up and do all sorts with it, I'll be learning all about this over the coming months as I've just got the software and will be learning what to do with the aid of the AVDI German forum.
all the immobiliser chips and the software are available from Aliexpress.
one of the best things about it, it has an MK60EC1 coding helper built in which is worth its weight in gold to all the people that want to retro fit PLA 1/1.5/2 to older cars needing there brake unit upgraded.

Pretty sure Eddie desoldered something off my clusters once. He definetely had the rear case opened and had some wires going to some pins

plus the OP only said highline coding is this is only from a midline (all red) I'm sure it's not rocket science, when Kalu did my white one he was only gone a matter of minutes so if it does require soldering or eeprom reading or anything then its just finding the info needed.
It's just a case of slowly learning what to do, they all started somewhere.

I believe there is yes but all this info is either on forums or instructions somewhere, especially for a range of cars that ended in 2009, plus you do need the software.I like your style buddy..

I wasn't looking for a how to guide but just what software was required...
Can't understand how some people want to defend that kind of info.. it's not like it is going to be stolen from them.. it's out in the marketplace there for the taking(buying).
Just wanted to make sure the coder dude over here was fully kitted up and could do the job..

This is how forums are supposed to work, information shared between enthusiasts. People guarding this info like their lives depends on it seems a bit odd since they had to learn it from somewhere. It's not like they invented the bloody thing.

People can still make money off of what they want but if your willing to try and give anything a go then the info should be there for people, that after all is why tons of questions are answered on here Daily, this is what I like about every forum I use.
Besides there are forums for vcds, vag can pro, avdi, plus many other general forums that give out answers to questions all in forum sprit, hardy breaking into cia nsa territory here lol.
