Ive got the chance of getting highline clocks from a 60 plated Scirocco 2.0 TDI, They are the later mk6 Golf style dials, so I assume them to be highline ones anyway, and they are from a high spec one with climate, armrest with MDI built into it etc.
Anyway being diesel clocks they go up to 6k rpm limit with the redline between 5 and 6k, and they go upto 180mph on the speedo dial.
My Jetta currently has the midline clocks mk5 style, with a 6k rpm limit, however my redline is from 4.5k to 6k, and my clocks only go up to 160mph, will I have any issues with compatibility fitting these and will they read the correct rpm and speed when fitted despite having a shorter redline and 20mph extra on the dials to fit in thus making the grading different?
Lastly, how do I go about getting the new dials to show my current mileage from my old clocks? Ive heard VW dealer cant do it unless they are new clocks, can anyone with a proper Vag-Com do it? Because my garage I use for repairs is a VW/Audi independent specialist whos 25years experience working within main dealers and can do cruise retrofits, MFSW and steering wheel controller upgrades and so on and says he has a Vag-com for coding all that stuff, is that all that's required or do the likes of Eddie-NL and so on have some special tools for coding in mileage?

You'll need to code new immobilizers also.. Milage has to be set, ground adjustment has to be done to the steering angle sensors etc etc.
Also if your car is build before august 2005 you'll to change your ABS electronic to a new version or swap out the intire pump.
Before you buy it ask the one you decide to pay for fitting this and ask if they think it will work. Have heard of so many buying a new cluster that will nok work before upgrading some stuff.

My car is a 2009 '09' plate Jetta, built October 2008 so built after mk5 Golf production ended so the ABS pump will be the later version anyway. I have seen mk5s with later Scirocco, Tiguan and so on clocks so i know it can be done, but not sure about clocks with different speedo limits and rev limiter, or changing mileage.
