and wow!
car seems so much faster, more power etc.. traction control is having to work overtime mind!
damn crappy insurance company robbed me though to cover it.
was I right to tell them my gti has an engine chip with an increase in bhp between 11% and 25% fitted?
Superchips state power goes from 197 to 238 (+41bhp) which is a 21% increase!
I also have a non resonating milltek catback exhaust fitted which is also declared. Will this give anymore gains apart from the sound? I forgot to tell superchips I had this when I got the new map from them so wondered if I should tell them so they can tweak it if required. Not sure if it will make any difference mind as I dont have the full turbo back exhaust system. I need the downpipe for that! :scared:
-
the insurance seems about right, i dont think the catback is enough to go for the stage 2 of bluefin, oh and you say you need the downpipe for the full system, im assuming you need the sports cat too ?
-
ah yes the high flow sports cat too!
would it pass an MOT with a sports cat fitted?

Yup! :happy2:
-
boy o boy, man alive etc I would have preferred you to say "no it will not pass MOT with one" as this is costing mega bucks in mods : )
just added to my shopping list.. on JKM performance website at the minute... they don't seem very cheap..
-
They come up on here from time to time used so either keep your eye out or post in the Wanted section. :happy2:
-
Unfortunately the DP and car are the dear bits. :sad1:
-
is it wise to leave the bluefin unit in the car?
problems etc, then can go to standard map regardless of where you are?
-
Does everyone here reccomend Bluefin? I have ben toying with getting a remap, does this just plug in and load?
I have teh Milltek exhaust and non res centre section, but not the other parts, what else do I need to get the full potential out of my exhaust?
(Oh, and sorry to hijack the thread!)

I think its great. Love mine and im really looking foward to adding the milltek Sports cat and downpipe next week to finish it off :happy2:
Aftersales Support from Superchips is always 1st class and nothings ever too much trouble to resolve :happy2:
-
Yeah superchips is awesome imo, more so for somebody who will put a map on and be happy with it rather than requiring the option to adjust and fine tune settings - i would just mess it up... :rolleye:
-
ive been close to getting one a few times but they are always sold ( reset one)
-
My mate Gti-Daz just got a reset one, barain! Different casr altogether now :happy2:

As long as its reset you wont have to pay anything, the seller would have to cover these costs to get it reset, as for ed30 and Gti they are a different map, but when you buy the handset theres not really a map on it, you plug it into the car and it downloads your map and then superchips send you the revised map to your handset :happy2:

Is the Bluefin re-flash traceable when it goes into the garage e.g Flash count??????

Not on the Mk5.
-
iirc it adds 1 to your flash count then takes 1 off of the flash count every time you flash the handset on your car.
so should essentially stay on the same number whether you flash you the car once or a hundred times.
I have been known to be wrong on occasion though :ashamed:
