Title: Gerlach exhausts?

Hi,

After a 3 year break from Mk5 Golf GTI ownership, I've just purchased another one. It has recently been fitted with a stainless steel exhaust (mid-box delete), but I'm putting it back to standard.

I was looking at used OE, but people seem reluctant to post them, so I've been searching for suppliers of new standard-type ones (not many!) - has anyone come across Gerlach exhausts? It's a German brand and there are some ok reviews for other cars, but nothing mentioning the Golf GTI.

Depending where you're based, you might be able to pick up a used OEM system from the likes of BCS for a few quid.

I left mine with them when I got their full system fitted - through laziness - and I'm sure it was in decent nick, so you might find they've got some lying around.

I don't have any experience of the quality of Gerlach unfortunately, but maybe someone else can offer some opinions.

Hi, ok - thanks for that. Unfortunately I'm not near BCS. Hopefully someone has tried gerlach or can suggest an alternative source!

Hi Craig, I'm in Edinburgh, but can arrange a courier easily as long as the thing can be wrapped up (bubble wrap etc). Feel free to PM me.

The "aftermarket" standard ones are about £75 brand new plus delivery for the mid and rear boxes, and used ones are anywhere from £25-£60 plus delivery, hence wondering which to go for.

Did exact same myself :D saw the shiny new exhaust and suddenly didn't want my old one  :wink:
