Hi Guys,
I've just bought myself a Mk5 GTI 2006,
I love the car I've just bought although I'm having boost problems :/ I have replaced the Diverter Valve and the PCV Valve, but still I have problems with the engine revs fluctuating when idling and now and then the turbo doesnt work at all, but some days it will work fine :/
Has anyone else had these problems?
Please help!
Thank you,
Aidan

Next step is to plus it into VCDS and get the codes read to see what the car thinks the problem is. Post the log here if you'd like advice

Thanks for the reply!
Here are the codes... They were wiped yesterday and this is what i got after the engine management light came back on after around 40 miles of driving. I should say that the intake has been smoke tested too, to which no leak was found. I have a Bank 1 oxygen sensor ready to be fitted. Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)
Symptoms = Lack of power (no turbo boost) - Fluctuating rpm when idling - mpg is lower than usual too.

Delete the codes drive and read for fault codes again.

Didn't he already do this? The log is only 40 miles/1 day. Would there be any use in resetting and getting logs twice like this?
I'd start by replacing that knock sensor. Its in the intake manifold so could have failed.
Here's a guide: http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/Volkswagen_Golf_GTI_Mk_V/48-ENGINE-Knock_Sensors_Replacement/48-ENGINE-Knock_Sensors_Replacement.htm
And here's what Ross tech say about the error. Symptoms sound similar to what you described: http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/16711/P0327

oops should have read the replies lol
Knock sensors are under the inlet manifold but check for dv leaks first?. Also check your IC pipe right hand side as it could be leaking or popped off?.

Thanks for the replies :) I've already replaced the DV, but that won't explain the revving up and down when its idling would it? I've managed to get my dad to look into it while I'm at work, I'll keep you updated with what we find :) Thanks guys :)
