Since fitting VWR dampers, VWR springs and new OEM top mounts (normal MK5 ones), I get a strange rubbery creak/squish/squelch noise on slower bumps and dips. Once above 30mph and more abrupt bumps, I can't hear it.
With the top mounts, I made sure the little arrows were facing the front/back of the car and torqued down to spec.
Anyone else had this? The car drives absolutely fine.
I keep reading on here and the FB group about people getting funny noises after fitting aftermarket suspension
I did notice actually, when pressing the piston rods down by hand before fitment, there was squishing air type noises (probably the oil squeezing through the valve holes). The OEM dampers, despite being ancient, were silent when doing the same thing. I wonder if it that's noise transmitting into the body shell? If it is, they'll be going back for a refund!!

I used to get the same noise (based on your description) with my original standard dampers at slow speed, especially over speed bumps. I've not had this since fitting Bilstein B8s with VWR springs so it could well be something to do with internal valving/piston diameter.

I also note your comments on rubbing in another post - again, same springs but with B8s and I've not experienced any such issues.

Thanks for that. I was considering upgrading to the B8s actually (MK6 flavour though) as I find the VWR setup a bit soft when pushing on.
Or go back to the knackered OEM dampers & top mounts, which are probably now someones tumble drier as I chucked them.
