Title: Key Replacement Advice
Post by: shaunK on July 29, 2017, 09:19:46 am
Hi all I'm after some desperate advice, we've somehow managed to lose the only key for our 2005 GTI. The car is open but I have no idea how to go about getting a replacement. Will it be VW only option?

Any help will be much appreciated.

You will need the PIN code from the ECU for the correct key. You will need to get the car open for VCDS to be plugged in for the info. Key is around £200 and takes about 2 weeks off the top of my bald head

It's around £240 all in with the coding at the dealers.  V5 and license required as proof of ownership too.
