Ive got a few long drives ahead of me in the coming weeks, so i'm looking for some recommendations of albums that will keep me going.
I have a pretty eclectic music collection, so anything suggested will go on the list.
Listened to a couple rap albums that slipped me by recently, Nas - Illmatic, 2pac - All eyes on me. Also listened to a couple of rock albums, couple of pop albums, etc.
So, what are you guys listening to??
-
I use spotify and whack it on shuffle most of the time, currently listening to bananarama and abba. Although Kendrick Lamars Album Good Kid Maad City is probably my favourite album

"Robert Deniro's waiting, talking Italian......."
"You are the Dancing Queen, young and sweet, only seventeen...."
Do people still listen to that stuff??!
I just bung Soundcloud on and let the house & garage sets massage my ears too and from work.

Oldies and Country are the way forward you're missing out! :driver: and we're not all wanting to take ecstasy while we drive

Fleetwood Mac The Dance George Thorogood Live Rolling Stones Grrr.

Absolutely allsorts! Created a few roadtrip albums many years back on a tour round Europe - classified them into Bahnstorming beats, Alpine roads, chilled out cruising, etc.
As above - Gorillaz are good. Bit of an older one here - Kosheen - really enjoyed their tracks - makes the miles go by. Maybe a bit commercial, but I have generally always loved the Mash-up mixes by Ministry of Sound too...

Welcome to the official What are you listening to now thread. The premise is pretty simple. Just post the name of the band or musician you are currently listening to and the name of the song. Ive found that this is a great way to discover new music as well as find out what other peoples tastes are.

Love a bit of DnB. I hope the DJs don't leave Soundcloud now that they've shoved audio adverts onto the end of each track. PlastikPeople do some decent old school garage mixes on there, if that floats ya' boat.
Cheers @AJP (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=11926) I'm also a big fan of high end audio and good music goes hand in hand with that  A really well produced album like Kraftwerk's "Minimum-Maximum" sounds absolutely sublime on a decent setup.....even in compressed digital form.

I'm not a huge DnB fan but Roni Size has done some good stuff. Brown Paper Bag is a classic. Another Bristol artist as it happens. I'm not from Bristol, but it seems I'm drawn to that 90s movement in particular - Massive Attack, Tricky etc.
I'm missing some decent SQ in the Golf. Sadly it's not as simple as buying a good amp, some decent monitors or floorstanders and decent cables, like it is at home!

I like the old 90s D&B, not so much the recent stuff. 80s/90s is actually my main preference really.
You're right, it isn't, unless you spend the big bucks. I was into all that years ago with Genesis amps and ultra high end speakers, sounded amazing but I didn't like leaving 5 figures worth of kit in the car unattended......and with car stereos cranked up loud, I can't concentrate and my pedal coordination goes out the window!
Domestic stuff is even harder to get right in my experience, especially with sub placement. Bass is non-directional they say, and to that I say cobblers. I ended up needing 2 subs.....not for volume, but to balance it out.
