Title: Finding MK5 OEM Xenon Headlights
Post by: spinfaster on September 10, 2017, 03:56:32 pm
Hi All,

I know there are probably many threads about retro fitting original xenon headlights but I can't seem to find any info about finding them in the first place. Is eBay really the only place to get them or can anyone recommend somewhere else? I've found a pair on eBay but £550 seems a bit steep...

Do OEM xenon headlights come with everything needed or do I need to get any other bits and pieces?

Will they slot straight in to a GTI that has halogen lights or does room need to be made?

Thanks in advance for any replies!

Go straight in but will need a 10 to 12 pin adapter. Can get them for around £40 on ebay.

Depending on condition, a good second hand set will be around 300-400. Anything higher than should be in a highly maintained state.  In that price range make sure its got bulbs, ballasts and ignitors. And also look out for broken tabs. They can break easily.
