Title: Which brake pads are the best for 8 pot calipers
Post by: Sulley91 on September 27, 2017, 06:36:58 pm
I've recently brought some 8 pots calipers, but I'm undecided which pad to use, I had project mu pads on my ttrs setup but for the 8 pots they are over £700 !
It'll be used for fast road and a Rare track day use.

Maybe go down the Mu range to the HC800 instead of H16? Hendy seem to offer some pretty reasonably priced options

I ran 6 pot AP's with Pagid RST'3 briefly and these were far too aggressive for the road. Get a pad compound that's as close to 'normal' as you can get. You need to be able to have them at optimal working temps for the road, my AP's ran APF404's which were great on the road, not grabby or noisy. Since the pad area is massive they can slow the car without any bother on a track day.

If you choose an exotic compound that will rarely be at ideal temps you will most likely wear your discs out prematurely.
