Title: Same old Fault Codes[emoji35]
Post by: GTIJohnEd30 on September 28, 2017, 07:10:45 pm
So after not having my Edition30 Stage 2+ car for over a month having the following work done and carried out! Chain, tensioner, TTRS LPFP, RS4 return valve, complete oil change to millers Nanodrive, sump cleaned with a new oil return pipe, new MAF, new Lamba probe, new fuel pressure sensors... get my car back from the local Revo Dealer and the 2 same faults come back on that we’re on and the reason why it went in

^^^What?! Thats definitely cracked. Get a second hand functional pump and swap them over (you cant buy sensor seperately). Can pick them up for 50-100£

Have you tried swapping the other furl pump sensor? Think I've seen that code associated with that sensor before. If anyone you know has a tfsi might be worth swapping pumps to rule it out.

Which sensors that mate? I’ve already replaced the fuel rail sensor and the sensor on the HPFP? Cheers

The sensor that comes out the right hand side of the pump when looking at it straight on. Id be tempted to swap the whole pump tbh.

When you clear the codes to they come back straight away or after some driving? Reason I ask is at 2+ im guessing you have uprated pump/internals and probably dont want to run the car with stock internals on a 2+ map. If the codes come back straight away you wouldnt need to run the engine to see if the fault lies in the pump

I don’t think there is a sensor on the right as you look at it from the front of the car mate? There is one on the left hand side which I’ve changed, and yeh it’s got the autotech internals mate, and the the light comes back after a while of driving once they’ve been re set pal!

Ah yeah sorry I got that completely wrong, its the left hand one I was talking about. Oh, I didn't know you changed it already. Thought you meant the fuel rail pressure sensor - which is in the fuel rail itself.

Update... was told by the previous owner I shouldn’t put a Revo Air Induction kit on the Car, which I thought was a load of crap! So.... I took it off Sunday afternoon and..... yep the light and faults haven’t come back on since! I’m literally so baffled with this outcome

That is extremely odd!

That would explain the P2177 code, but not the P0191 code, so yeah that is a bit weird.

Perhaps the fuelling went mad to accommodate the amount of air "coming in" and threw the code

That shouldn't happen with a Revo as it apparently has the correct cross sectional area in the MAF tube, and you'd also think Revo Software + Revo intake ought to play nicely together.

It might be worth pulling the battery, re-loading the map with the SPS and let it re-adapt.   This version of MED9 seems to take forever to adapt and self tune.
