Just in preparation for the summer now and wondering what id need to run 11.xx quarter on a manual 4wd?
best time is 12.7 @ 113mph but had a 2.1 60ft due to not launching a stock clutch
reckon with a 1.8 60 ft could hit 12.4 ish
Would a Hybrid make the difference to an 11 sec?
currently full weight including rear seats but i want to stay OEM appearing as possible
Thanks

I’m really not sure to be honest ..... but .5 of a second in drag times is a huge amount . I would have thought you’d have to strip the interior right out ( I know you don’t want to though ) and run a lot more power

A TTE420 will comfortably get you into the 11s if you get a good launch with the manual box.

Thanks Pudding, do you know anyone that has done this already? would be good to see the power and spec they used.
I see lots of dsg hybrids running 11.5 so maybe with NLS can get close.
tbf only been on the strip 3 times so maybe some more practice

If you google "TTE420 1/4 mile times" you will see a few examples :happy2: I think they were all DSG cars though, and 4WD. You already have the latter which is a good start, but it's so easy to bog a 4WD off the line with a manual! Difficult to find the sweet spot but yeah, it's all in the practice!
At least with the TTE420 it's a pure bolt-on. Just need a tune and you're all set :happy2:

The league table of owners’ times on TTE’s site has a 420 DSG dipping into the 10s but no manual car sub 12s, even with TTE525. That’s not to say it can’t be done though......

I imagine we could soon see a MQB car dipping into the 9s when the tuners get to grips with the new 610 turbo. Incredibly quick!
