Thinking of selling up and getting something more economical due to the number of miles I do.
Still in 2 minds really, so just wanted a rough idea of how much my car would be worth?
GTI Edition 30 - Grey - 5Door
Registered August 2008 (08 Plate)
DSG Gearbox with steering wheel paddles
Parrot Bluetooth kit
Highline
Multifunctional Steering wheel
Just under 16,000 miles.
Its all stock - so a blank canvas for any modders out there.
Its had its first service last year with the VW dealers direct. Next service not due until August (Time & Distance).
Body in excellent condition - like new, bar the odd stone chip which are not deep etc.
Wheels are in good codition also. The odd very slight hardly noticable mark. One rim has some scuffing, which can easily be refurbed if need be.
Interior is like new - rear middle seat has not been used so no leather creasing whatsoever.

But good luck anyway

I know I'd regret it - but with the petrol prices still climbing itrs making me think twice!
I can afford to run it perfectly fine etc, but sometimes I feel like Im thowing money away when filling her up!
Also, Im considering purchasing a second property to put on rent so would put the money towards that......
-
ive heard that youd be luky to get 3 grand for it, so in that case you would be silly to sell it so instead you should keep it
-
I would just price it against the most similar on Autotrader. Depends if your after a quick sale or not.
And you will miss it as I do mine, good things come and go.
-
Forgot to mention it also obviously has just under half of its 3 year warranty remaining etc.
Im thinking around the £17,800-18,000 mark maybe?
-
I put mine up at £17495 last night.
Would take £17k etc.
So £18k for yours would be a good start?
-
Well, since Im in 2 minds, and not in any rush to sell, Ive stuck it up at £18,395. lol

Still waiting approval so not sure if link will work yet....
If I get a good offer I may let her go :sad1: , if not I'll keep her

I'd pay double the fuel price to drive my ED30 every day and it wouldn't worry me one bit!
Keep her! :happy2:
-
What are you getting in its place ?

Good news and bad news.
Good news is that I may be getting a promotion at work very soon.
Bad news is that it means extra driving between sites.
I currently do around 300 miles a week - and with the currently increasing petrol prices it was around the £50 a week mark. That hurt a little, but after driving her I forgot soon after filling up!! lol
If I get the promotion I will be doing a lot more, and cant afford to throw even more money away on fuel. Hence if it does happen over the next week or two Im going to have to let my beloved, beloved, ED30 go - just when I got that damn plaque as well - and get a more economical car - maybe a standard Golf.
Im really cut up about having to sell. Really love this car to bits and Ive taken good care of her - by that I mean even wiping off the exhaust tips after every drive!! But i have to be realistic. The kids need a holiday, could do with putting a lump sum into the mortgage, and the wife would also be happier knowing Im not at risk of killin gmyself every time I drive the car
If i go ahead, I'll be listing around the £18k mark on Pistonheads (currently 16,700 miles). Do you think thats a fair starting price??
The local VW dealership offerred me £15.5k, so I told em where to go!

LPG conversion
-
Those rims look a lot brighter than standard Pescaras? Refurbed or just very clean?
-
LPG conversion
That would mess up an otherwise excellent car!!
Dont even think they can do a conversion on the GTI engine anyways!
:signLOL:

Just clean mate.
Never had em refurbed. Had plans to get them powdercoated a light shade of grey, with a red rim, this summer :sad1:
