Hi guys,
Anyone had a fault where you lose radio signal when changing to reverse, all I get is static, driving around it’s fine.
Rcd300 and bought a new aerial from dealers problem still there, any ideas?
Thanks

I get this with an RCD330 Plus when in reverse, presumably as the reversing camera is polluting the 12v feed with EMI.
Does it happen if you put a phone charger in the 12v cig feed up front too?

I haven’t got a reverse camera but the only other thing maybe is that I have a led bulb for the reverse light? No interference with my phone charging in the cig port.

@r5gtt (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=11199) didn’t this happen to you?
Something to do with earthing with your reverse light powered and your antenna?

My reverse hopefully isn't wired to the aerials power supply :thinking:
It's an oem bee sting aerial. I never did resolve my issue of pressing the brakes and getting interference. Just gave up listening to the radio although it would have been nice to find out why it was happening with my rcd300 @lukemk5gti (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=10176)

Swap out the led for halogen to cross that off for a start
I have 2 led reverse bulbs on mine and no interference though

Mine does this since I fitted a led reverse bulb

Mine does this when I turn on the rear heated window
