Title: GTI DAZ '06 GTI
Post by: GTI DAZ on December 19, 2017, 09:26:13 am
Morning all,

Been on here about a month now and finally got myself a golf gti.

'06, black, 3 door and manual with 79k. and i couldn't be happier.

Full VW service history and Lovely to drive.

Kinda low spec (pants stereo, no heated seats or CC or Xenons) and small rust on boot release and on front wings but working on fixing this.

done about 300 miles so far in a week and its great fun, averaging around 30mpg is this right?

First mod ! managed to get what i believe to be an RCD330+ from work as we build them. just need to power it up and see if it works.
and full LED conversion.

Done list:
- Team HEKO Wind Deflectors
- Cam Follower 80,000 miles
- USDM Side lights
- Pipercorss panel filter
- Full LED Upgrade
- Precat delete
- Skyline rear lights

Congrats on the purchase Daz! - glad you finally found one.

Did it have the cam follower and any of the other common issues done?

A guy who lived 3 doors down from me had a black 3dr gti, which was sitting smart on springs...always had my eye on it but he ended up moving  :sad1:

any plans to catch the mod bug on this one? wind deflectors always look good on a 3dr imo

Cheers guys, nothing as I’m aware @Manny_ED30 (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=19272) so stuff will be ordered between Xmas and New Years. The missus got us wind deflectors for Xmas and fitted a K&n panel today. Got the fuse bypass to fit tomorrow to stop battery drain till I get the new canbus coded. After the crash my plan is to retro fit all the stuff I want, and all OEM parts I can and save up to go full stage 3 in the summer inc diff, bbk, coilovers ect

Looks mint Daz !  :happy2:

I'm wanting to upgrade to that stereo you have there too. Let us know what it's like.  :happy2: :happy2: I had the same battery drain issue and got the canbus changed. £25 from someone on here and £20 to get coded. Best off doing it that way.

Nice! I've never had the balls to go black (keeping it clean 24/7 lol) but it always looks sweet when clean and shiny. Skyline mod looks really good too. :happy2: I'm looking at a pre-cat delete and other downpipe options myself at the mo before she's off for a spot of mapping
