Title: Heated seat fuse keeps blowing
Post by: Mattyp123 on December 28, 2017, 11:22:58 am
Hey guys and girls

My heated seats have never worked and the missus complains whenever it gets cold so I decided to have a go. Turns out there's a 5a fuse in the interior fuse box (number 46) that blows as soon as the ignition is turned on. I popped a 7.5 in, it blew, same as a 10a. 15 is holding and the seats heat up now but now I'm worried the seats will explode. I guess the missus will be warm if that does happen...
Any ideas as to why it's not holding in?

Ps. I am a total noob to this forum and I have no idea what I'm supposed to write in the questions/option boxes.

Cheers

Reading through this guide it mention the use of a low value fuse, in part of the circuit, it may be worth you looking through it.

Is your car a 2006?

I installed some heated GTI seats into my car and noticed the 2006 seats ( Control Module under each seat ) use 15a fuses whereas The 2007 ( one control module ) uses 5a fuses.

If it's a 2006 I wouldn't be worried :happy2:
