VW replaced the spark plugs on the 2.0T every 40,000miles, if your remapped I would highly recommend as preventative maintenance you swap the plugs every 15-20,000 miles.
I was getting a random multiple missfire at high-ish speeds during WOT in 5th/6th, everything seemed fine in the lower gears. I did the obvious diagnosis with coilpacks which didnt fix it so went onto spark plugs - although the one's in there having done only 15k miles! Anyway swapped and now the car seems to be running fine again with no hiccups so far.
All 4 removed plugs look the same and dont appear to look 'bad' in any way.
FYI, plugs are £9.50 + vat each from VW

Cheapish fix then Neg :happy2:
Sound advice though as the engine will be working harder than the consumables were designed for.

....
JKM recommended I change plugs every 20k miles because my car is remapped. Standard Mk5 GTI VW plugs are fine.
:happy2:
[neg - How's your turbo issue?]

Good advice :happy2: cheers

Replace my plugs every 20k, and my coils every 40k (had them done a bit early at my 77k service). Oil every 5-8k and DSG fluid every 30k :P
She's an expensive girl... even the gf isn't as bad as baby :P

neg - How's your turbo issue?
Still questioning it, made a few changes - plugs, filler cap etc so need to get it checked out again and do some logs in the new year.

Good advice Neg!
I will look into this myself soon! :happy2:
