Title: Dv noise help
Post by: Ash_89 on January 12, 2018, 05:59:53 pm
I’ve changed my thermostat today and thought I’d replace the dv for a rev g
Once taking the valve off I stupidly didn’t check if it had been replaced before , and what do you know it had  !
I’ve re fitted the old valve but now get a dv noise when changing gear that wasn’t there before does anyone know what usually causes that noise (fast and furious dv noise )

Assume you mean a pssshhht noise Buses make when you back off the gas?

Have you got an aftermarket intake?  You don't hear that noise with the standard intake.

But a psssshht is normal, it means the DV is doing it's job.

It’s standard mate yeah like a old skool Baileys dump valve haha standard air box too
I’m thinking I couldn’t of tightened the bolts holding the dv on properly

Oil in the Diverter valve connector?   You've got oil wicking up the wires from somewhere. Have a look at the plastic corrugated PCV hose.  They are known to split and piss oil vapours out under boost.

You shouldn't hear the dumping with the standard intake, so something not quite right there.
