Title: iPod dock
Post by: gtipirelli on January 29, 2018, 05:29:28 pm
Looking for a bit of help

I have a 2008 Pirelli with the integrated iPod dock in the centre armrest. It does not have an Aux socket

I have an old iPhone 4 that slots in to it but cannot load the amazon music ap on it. I also have an old iPhone 5 with the music ap but I cannot find an adapter to allow the newer iPhone with the new lightning slot to work with the car

The cheap one off eBay I find don’t seem to work including the ones that indicate they will stream music

Any help would be appreciated. I don’t want to spend much if possible.

I have the original basic head unit from that era where you have to push the CD button twice for it to recognise the iPod is in use

Thanks

Dont quote me on this and hopefully someone else can confirm but Im fairly sure the dock will only read the music physically stored on your iPhone, not streamed through an app - Amazon Music, Spotify etc

i would think Rob is right, i use mine with my ipod, and the level of control is non-existant, ie i can play a track, next track, etc. or random, and the only info that comes up is "track 09"

Thanks for the replies guys

I have downloaded the individual tracks on to the phone on the amazon music app so I can listen offline. Has anyone managed to get a new generation phone with new lightning socket to work with the old generation connector in our mark 5 golfs ?

Thanks
