right ... this is the car (yes, i know it's not really a mk5) :
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fac330%2Farielpoko%2FPB260215.jpg&hash=0af22318660babc55f7ef7d46a55048bda0d7a9d)
now , since i am changing to 255x35x18 i am in desperate need of wheels.
and since the car is in a middle of a project i need them urgent , 2-3 weeks in israel
i am really not a wheel whore and i am not sure what will look good.
i want light weight , but it's not really critical since an extra 2-3kg per corner will not make an extreme change.
and one more thing - they must be 8.5X18 in a high ET 45-50.
i was really thinking on the VMR V710 , either in Black or silver :

any ideas ?

liking them in black dude :happy2: they have a nice curve to them
not thought about 19's?

i think running 255's over 19's will be impossible on the car.
also - already have both a set of Toyo R1R , a Set of Toyo's R888 waiting for the car , and a set of Michelin pilot on the way.
all of them 255x35x18
-
100% the VMR's in Black
-
i really like the VMR's in term of design , one of the nicest things on the market.
the only thing that bothers me is the quality. those are not really the top of the line in terms of weight and strength.
if i could get something in carbon ... without the real carbon price.
-
Get the vmr's dipped and coated in carbon vinyl?
-
not being funny but those silver ones would look really good on a black MK5, but i think the black ones would suit the black leon far more. without offending anyone i hope that made sense?!!
-
I'm considering these on my cupra, although they look almost standard

or i quite like the new GOlf R wheels, or Speedline Turinis

that makes sense.
however i am afraid since my car is painted matte black and the wheels are matte black ,that the colors wouldn't match.

the Lenso are nice , BBS RS replica, but come only in 15" and 16".
as for the rest, none is avilable in 8.5X18 , mostly they are 8 wide which is not suitable for 255's.
it is really hard to find good 8.5's.
does anyone know what is the price of the Team Dynamic's ?
-
How much does it cost for a set of black VMR's?? They do look very nice and i fancy a bit of a change for this summer :)
-
they are not expensive.
you can get them for 200$/Wheel (800$/set) at 18".
however those are us prices. i am going to pay at-least 400-500$ more for shippment.

i like LM reps.
however they do have brake clearance problems , and the specific ones you sent look like a very bad/cheap/chinese rep and the ET35 will defo not work.

those i didn't like .
but the RS Forged black look awsome.
however they don't state sizes and judging by the other forged in their site it will probably be only 20" and 21" which are very nice ... but for the wife's jeep.

tell me what you think of this :
(again sorry , know it's not a leon forum , but most users here are serious and SCN is not really my cup of tea)
i am thinking on using JE wide arch body kit :
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fac330%2Farielpoko%2FJELeonWB-DetailLS2.jpg&hash=1dc6bfcdc15326abb8e77de6cad879b894233b23)

without the horrible spoiler of-course.
the wheels in the picture are 9.5X18 ET 32 !!!!
-
an honest answer is Nope, not for me it looks too fussy.
-
Just be wary of the impact that wide arch kits can have on insurance premiums too - I would suggest that you run a possible project past your insurers first just to evaluate the impact it may have on your policy.

insurance works very differantly in Israel.
basically ... if you mod your car and they find out , you are not insured.
however they do go light on body kits, the Engine/Chassis mods is what they're after.

I for one find the K1 seat kit very good looking on the car, why not go for that??
-
i actually dislike the K1 kit , but that's really not the point.
i am not looking for cosmetic upgrade but for a wide arch solution which will allow me to run wider wheels on the car.
the k1 keeps the regular wheel arches and therefore gives me no benefit over the normal cupra kit.
in JE kit you actually cut the OE wheel arches and use their extension which gives planty of space for wheels , even too much space.
i was thinking of buying the OE WTCC/BTCC body parts from Seat Sport but that really means changing the entire body panels of the car - I.E cutting/welding and other things i'm not willing to do.
