Title: Water pump replacement West London
Post by: mattyc on March 21, 2018, 11:03:56 am
Hi all,

Just been informed by the garage my water pump is leaking (Mk5 GTI).

Any recommendations on where to get the work carried out and rough costs? From doing a bit of searching it seems advisable to get the cam belt done too.

Thanks

VW’s Fixed Price scheme is not that outlandishly expensive at £500 for this work given the assurance of factory parts / warranty.

Well, I can certainly recommend giving Monaco VW a wide berth. They don’t honour VW’s fixed price for this work and I had a bad experience with them. So bad that I was forced to complain to VW UK and they then proceeded to misrepresent the facts of the situation......

Find a Seat dealer who will do it for £469 under their fixed price maintenance. They do water pump on its own for £230. Or get a VW dealer to price match Seat.
