Title: Canbus Gateway replacement - Issues
Post by: DMackie on May 07, 2018, 09:17:21 am
Hello

Had a successful car modding weekend with my friend getting GPS aerial fitted, ramair intake and a newer version of the canbus gateway fitted (what a bitch of a job!)
Before replacing it my Parrot Asteroid Mini was working perfectly but since installing the new canbus the parrot system doesn't boot up sadly. First thoughts were that it wasn't plugged into the main hub, check that and it is. I haven't taken the stereo apart yet to check more as i only noticed it driving home after fitting everything.

Could the canbus gateway have changed anything to stop it booting or would it be a case that i knocked a plug loose?

You might need some features ticking in the replacement CAN Gateway module with VCDS, assuming no plugs have been knocked out.

I am guessing that you used VCDS to take screenshots of the original coding etc for your car before removing?

When you put the new one in, you need to then use VCDS again to recode it to match the original one you took out as there are many different settings that can create errors in the car.

Would anyone know which options to select to get the parrot system to boot?

Scanned the car and got a can gateway code

Address 19: CAN Gateway        Labels:. 1K0-907-530-V3.clb
   Part No SW: 1K0 907 530 Q    HW: 1K0 907 951
   Component: J533  Gateway   H07 0062
   Revision:   H07 01    Serial number: 210608F1000825

Now i have a scan from before the canbus was installed. Should the coding be the same??

Address 19: CAN Gateway        Labels: 1K0-907-530-V1.clb

I looks like number 37 navigation has been selected on the new canbus which wasnt selected on the old canbus and my MFD2 worked fine.

Do i uncheck that as the Radio module now has

56-Radio -- Status: Not registered 0011
