Title: Aircon leak

Took the car to Kwik Fit last weekend and they were unable to pressurise the system so that it holds any gas. They couldn't tell me where the leak was.

Do these cars have any common leak points on the aircon system? I will be getting it leak tested but it could save on some time if they always leak in the same places.

Mines got a small leak, gas lasts about 6 months  :scared:

Most likely the condenser at the front but it could be anywhere. If you familiar with which pipes and parts in the engine bay are AC related you can check them over them with a UV light. Most the time when the AC is refilled there will be a dye that will show under UV.

Cracked or holed condenser is the most common leak point due to being the front most radiator, so gets all the stones, rocks and pigeon attacks.

I'm surprised Kwik Fit don't have a sniffer, or fluorescent dye to find the leak.  Standard tools for any AC regassing station.

Yeah they said they couldn't do it because their master tech had left haha. Didn't cost me anything though so was fine.

Ive now taken it to a specialist instead.
