Right so I've seen a few Air Con related problems on here recently (due to the hot weather no doubt) however, none seem to be the same as mine.
I put my Air Con on and it works for about 1-2 mins then it stops blowing, if I press the AC button off and then back on again it works fine again for another 1-2mins. So to keep the cabin cool I keep pressing the AC button off and on as I am driving along.
Any ideas because I am stumped?

I don’t have the answer Clarky, but mine is exactly the same, effing annoying, and really not sure why. Hopefully someone has had this problem before and can point us in the right direction :happy2:

have you tried the flap calibrate/rest? worth a try
Also if you have a VCDS it would be worth having a check for codes and so on.

There's plenty problems with the AC system and its component parts but since yours works, then fails I would consider this area

Sounds like you've got a mk5 TDI (diesel) golf and have fitted the mk6 climatronic panel?
If I'm right.... it's the ECU having a bug, which causes this.

I have a mk5 climate control panel, and I’ve got the exact same problems as the op

Thanks for the suggestions, unfortunately I don't have a VCDS so I can't jump into that and have a look not that I would know what I'm looking at anyway haha so Ive had a go a the calibration and there is no change, and I have a mk5 GTI 2006 so would that still be an ECU problem?

Okay so I know this won't help everyone however, I changed my mk6 climatronic pannel to an original mk5 one and the problem has gone, for me it seems the issue was the mk6 climatronic which is strange as I've never heard of people complaining about this issue?

No mate just plug and play, I thought that was the correct way of doing it?

You have to swap some wires about for the ac to work properly mate. Can’t remember which ones because it was years ago I did mine but if you search this forum it’s here somewhere.

I’ve also got some info....
Found a thread on here where the guy swapped his aircon panel for a newer one and then the aircon did what the op has described. And basically there’s something on the newer panel that confuses the aircon and it does this shut off thingy. He swapped back to his original panel and everything was fine again.. I’ll try and find the post...here we go!
