Is there any known problem with the DSG box?
Do they require any more attention than annual servicing.

Servicing is every 40k miles for oil and filter change.
Mechantronic's (gearbox control unit) have been known to fail causing jerky changes in 1,2 and Reverse gear :happy2:

Thanks Steve. Managed to find a 57 plate GTI. 1 Owner from new and 47k on the clock.
Only thing is it has DSG and i would have prefered Manual.

It's worthwhile going to try the DSG, I am totally converted to DSG now and despite having some problems with my last one have still selected it again for my new car :happy2:

Does the DSG restrict the tunning options of the car.
Been looking around and cant find any info on a Revo remap on a DSG car.
Do these lift the standard manual car from 200 to 240.

The DSG's are generally stronger than the manual.
The remaps for the engine are available for both types of gearbox.
Plus with the likes of Revo you can also get software to go on the DSG gearbox to improve the way it works/reacts :party: :party:

I would agree, DSG seems to last and cope well - not worry of clutch slipping and the like which is seen quite often.
Once you used to it I reckon your love it.

Another accolade for DSG - I've done 80,000 miles on one. It's the best of both worlds and very practical and worth the learning curve for all its combination options before it becomes natural and fluid to use.

My bro recently got a Leon FR DSG with all the options, never driven one before but I told him he would love it - and he does!
