Title: Advice on tidying up Monza alloys
Post by: shail on June 02, 2018, 08:31:33 am
My monzas are badly pitted.  Each rear has a 10cm diameter patch in centre where there is no lacquer and the wheel is pitted.

I dont want to get them refurbed, but just make them presentable.

Im thinking of buying an orbital sander, sanding the wheel and painting it. Are orbital Sanders 'man' enough to remove pitting?  I'm looking at a 250w entry level Makita from Screwfix.

The alloy is not that hard do it by hand spend your money on a few grades of good wet and dry use it wet in a bucket with warm water and a little washing up liquid strat with low number wet and dry and work up slowly to the finer grades with the higher numbers
