Hi Guys I've been pointed this way by Chungster as a good place to grab some info!
I've gone through a couple of Seats (Leon Cupra and Ibiza FR TDi) and now looking to change up to a golf GTI. So far the dealer experience has been a step down from that of Seat to be honest! Pressure sale tactics over the phone and the I've got a guy coming to take that car out in the morning you need to come put a deposit down now or risk losing it type antics!
Any of you guys purchased a car older than 3 years from a main dealer and had to claim on the warranty? It seems pretty limited(http://www.volkswagen.co.uk/owners/warranty/used-car/3-years-plus).
I'll no doubt have a wedge of questions in the near future :signLOL:

Hi and welcome
My brothers got approved used Audi warranty and just had a new steering rack, headlight motor and rear washer jet done with no fuss, depends who you're dealer is I think.

Welcome
I've got a used car warranty and it's okay. I've had 3/4 different sets of work on it including a turbo valve.
It's perhaps not worth £400 quid, but I'm going to renew it in June I think and I'm sure I'll make use of it again.
You don't have to claim as such. The only thing you sign is the job sheet as normal and if you're offered a courtesy car like I am at my local dealer (which you should get priority for with a warranty it seems from my experience) then you'll sign for that too regards the insurance.
Other than that it's hassle free. I've been fairly impressed with how it works so far, other than the favourite "we can't see what's wrong with it" for things like steering grinds or engine belt rattling.

I got a new Aircon compressor (£1000 inc fitting) and door lock (£225 inc fitting) fixed under warranty on my 4 year old (now 5 year old). From Harrogate and Leeds VW respectively.
I was impressed with Gilder VW, where I bought mine. Salesman wasn't too pushy and seemed like an enthusiast.
