Title: Rev g diverted valve
Post by: Pikey Motorsports on August 22, 2018, 05:01:23 pm
Been out the modding game on the 2.0 tfsi for awhile but still always had one!

Anyway I’m going to start nodding one again, as far as I can remember rev g diverted is best on k04? I can’t seem to find one anywhere for sale? Have they been discontinued or something

Thanks

Both AKS Tuning and Awesome GTI stock them to order online. GFB DV+ is another good option

Welcome back by the way

I prefer the Go Fast Bits DV+ to the rev G OEM DV.

I've still got a piston Rev D as its fit and forget, do these make that much difference on a stage 1 revo?

I have GFB DV+ with Revo stg 1 and it makes throttle response a fair bit snappier.

Not doubting you felt an improvement with the GFB valve, but I always wonder how many people are actually comparing a new GFB valve with a new OEM valve, rather than a split or at least well-worn OEM valve - which I'd imagine is the majority?

Fair point as few people are going to be replacing a healthy part. I have owned owned the car since new and the GFB feels sharper than either of the two types of oem valves I have had before.

I replaced the D with the G- didn’t feel any difference
Then replaced healthy G with the GFB- sweet f all difference
Might even just stick the D back on. I’ll add that I hardly drive the car hard, when I do, in my opinion I don’t feel any difference.

I had a reg G in perfectly good conditions. I agree with colesey.

Does the rev g have a life span or is it a case of when it goes replace? I've had mine for 50k with a remap and to my mind the car seems fine and pulling well, or am I likely to have lost some oomph (slowly but surely) and not noticed?

They usually tend to just 'go' i.e. the rubber splits. How long they last is anyone's guess - they last longer on a K04 than a K03 mind - I used to get through a rev G inside 12 months at K03 Stage 2+..... My local TPS dealer got fed up of seeing me for warranty claims.....

My original rev G split @18 months after Revo stg1 was added. As Dan says, there is an absolute loss of boost when it fails so yours sounds fine. For now......

Just had mine done after 23k and 2.5 years - much better now! This is on a K03 with stage 1 Revo map.

Fitted a DV+ today in the place of a very healthy Rev G (around 3 months old) on a standard car. First impressions, very good.

Noticable improvement in sharpness of the throttle response and the boost feels ‘tight’, if that makes sense. No waiting for it to kick in on gear change either, boost is there as soon as I shift.

Very happy

Same impressions as I had and still have with mine. :happy2:
