New member here! I've always fancied a Mk5 GTi, ever since they came out so I took the plunge and sold my BMW 530i touring and bought my 55 plate Golf as a replacement commuter car.
Its a manual with heated leathers in tornado red and I already love driving it!
Already looking to replace the head unit with a RNS315, change the headlights as they are super cloudy and get the Monzas refurbished. Other than that it'll be a stage 1 remap and enjoy.

Welcome to the forum! They are great commuters and as you say great fun to drive. I take it you are not intending on doing an mods or tweaks? The red colour is really nice. You can get some kits to address the cloudy headlights that some have done.
Have you considered the RCD510 headunit?
