Title: Gearbox oil recommened
Post by: Trav Turbo on August 24, 2018, 09:12:33 am: Hello all! Going to be doing and oil change on my Manuel gearbox with a service soon. What's the best oil to use on a mk5 Golf Gti and experiences?

Post by: The Red Warrior on August 25, 2018, 11:23:12 am: I’ve been using Motul. Put some in when I got the car at 107,000. When I changed it when installing my LSD at 165,000 it was still in good condition.

Out of interest, how do you find the cold weather change into 2nd gear with the Motul? This seems to be the acid test for gear oils on our cars.

RoyalPurple Synchromax might be worth a look. Honda gearboxes are equally as fussy as VW boxes with oil, and Honda boys have had good luck with the RP.
