Title: Help with interior part numbers please
Post by: Tin Robot on September 04, 2018, 11:08:04 pm
Hi

Hope someone here can assist. Now I have my "new" GTI I want to bring it to a unmolested A1 standard. First on my list is the interior. I am after the part numbers for the following and would be really grateful for any assistance.

Centre Ashtray and Surround
Plastic gear selector surround (DSG/Auto)
ESP and Set buttons on centre console

Many thanks

I think you may be best to post up a wanted ad for these parts on here - most on ebay are scratched to hell, and VW will want an earth for them when you go to them with the part numbers.

Thanks for the replies - very true about the ebay things. Today I also discovered the petrol cap retaining cord had been snapped. They don't do the part on its own - you have to buy a whole new cap!

Anyway - since posting I have managed to find a friendly parts person at a VW main dealer. I intend to keep the car totally stock, apart from the head unit, as it is very well specced and low miles (37,000). My goal is to get as close to a "box fresh" GTI as possible.

Not sure that sort of car will be worthy of a readers ride thread but if any interest I will post up all the part numbers as it may help someone in the future. What do you think?

Since Tuesday night I've done around 400 miles and I am utterly in love with it. Brakes are insanely good (better than my 911) and the Xenons are incredible (ditto).
Thanks again.

I for one would be interested as it’s sort of what I hope to do with mine. No intention of selling it so want to keep it and as close to original as I can while still living with it day to day.
