hi lads my last gti (mk4) was a 3 door and they seemed to drop so the lines were off if ya know what i mean..
i read up on it and was advised to open door and get a car jack and jack it to restress the hindges and it worked..
just askin is this a prob wit the mk5? cause mine seems to have dropped and will the same fix solve it??
has antbody done this to the mk5???

There is. My doors were poorly aligned, and Greeners were also bad, I sorted both. You need to adjust the catch on the door pillar, you need a 12 point 8mm bit, undo slightly and tap it in the direction you need. Eg if the door needs to go up, tap the catch up.
Tighten and check, and carry out again if required. The trim lines on the exterior should line up nicely, and the door should shut easily.

i know it sounds rough with the jack but id did work and the hindges were hard to get at... will try the way yous lads didi it first :happy2:
