Hi all
Got a small leak in the cylinder 2 and 3 where the spark plugs are and looked into getting this fixed by back street garage to replace gasket but mine does not have a gasket and is glued down? I was also told the timing chain will need to come off (May as well replace if so anyway) to get this done.
I tried looking around on the internet for diagrams or any explanation but so far nothing. I wanted to see if anyone here had any pointers?
Also any idea on costs to get this fixed? Car drives fine but over time Im guessing it will get worse?
Car is petrol golf mk5 1.6 fsi
Thanks

Does it just leak into the spark plug chamber where you fit the coils?

Yes, also I forgot to mention is oil goes quick if I rev the car hard for long journeys (assuming it’s being burnt off)

Sounds like it's just a leaking valve cover gasket. It's a 30 minute job at the very most with probably a tea break in the middle :)
Gasket is obku a few quid too. It won't cause any issues if leaking other than your oil level will be dropping and you might develop a miss if coil and plugs are getting wet with oil.
