Title: Dog Bone Insert

Can anyone shed some light on why my 2005 gti might have this dogbone design.

I checked before buying a powerflex insert and its wrong. I should have the other type according to their specs. Really confused(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20181013/9424b6c9f1b8e5ec2cd390048c884d76.jpg)

As yours is an early car, VW probably changed the design after your car was built.  Google the part number.  You can see the suffix has changed 4 times.
