Hi guys,
I need to replace my rear nearside Coil Spring on my 2005 Golf GTI MK5 as it's broken so I might as well replace both rears. I just want completely standard springs so is it best to get them direct from VW parts place or can I get them on euro car parts or maybe even eBay?
Does anyone know the part number that I need so that I get the right ones and also what price should they be roughly?
Thanks
Craigh

Part number is 1K0 511 115 EC for the OE rear springs, Sachs are the OEM supplier for these but their aftermarket code is 994 632 (EAN 4013872854844).
Alternatively you can go the Bilstein B3 (OE equivalent) route which I've done recently, part number for the Bilsteins are 36-148134 for the rears.
You're looking around £35-45 for the springs so budget around £90 for the pair.

@PatchySan (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=6709) Hi mate thanks for that info.
Just called Bilsteins and they said that part number is for a 3 door golf and mine is a 5 door. I don't suppose you have the part numbers for a 5 door at all?
Cheers
